Chapter 711

So, she had a rough night with some gnarly nightmares and barely caught any Z's. She was already feeling like crap and so wiped out she was seeing stars. No way she could handle work in the afternoon.

She let out a big yawn, "Mr. Eilish, I'm beat. I need to catch some shut-eye first."

"Sure thing."

Next thing you know, Anthony glanced over, and she was already curled up, snoozing like a little kitten. Totally adorable.

Anthony stared at her for a few seconds, then snapped back to reality and got back to work.

The car cruised along smoothly, and who knows how much time passed.

Suddenly, he felt a slight weight on his shoulder.

Anthony turned his head and saw Juniper had dozed off on his shoulder, snoring softly and looking cute as a button.

She was so peaceful when she slept, all innocent and sweet, nothing like her usual bossy self.

A faint smile crept onto his face. He didn't even realize how fond his smile was.

His eyes drifted to her lips.

His throat went dry, and he couldn't help but want to kiss her.

Totally mesmerized by those soft lips, Anthony's throat felt parched. It was like he was under a spell. He didn't know how long he was lost in it when he suddenly snapped out of it, feeling a bit ashamed.

Anthony thought, 'I actually want to kiss someone else's girl, which is so not cool. Unless I make her mine!'

Anthony was shocked by his own thought.

In his squeaky-clean life, he'd always been a gentleman and never thought about taking what wasn't his.

But Juniper wasn't a thing; she was a person.

Even though she was with Ronnie, he always had this feeling that Juniper liked him too.

Was he just imagining things?

There was this wild beast inside him, always trying to break free, and he didn't know how long he could keep it in check. That beast seemed ready to bust out.

Juniper was out cold, and when she groggily opened her eyes, she found herself head-to-head with Anthony.

Her heart skipped a beat.

His jawline was soft and beautiful, like an angel.

No matter how cold he was to her, she always felt he was a warm guy.

As long as she was by his side, she felt incredibly peaceful and warm inside.

It was a cloudy day outside, but because of him, it felt like a sunny day.

She wished time would slow down and never stop.

At that moment, Juniper suddenly realized they were still in the car.

The driver was watching.

Juniper immediately pulled away, causing Anthony's body to lose support and fall onto her.

"Sorry, Mr. Eilish, I didn't mean to..." Juniper stuck out her tongue and quickly apologized.

Anthony's eyebrows furrowed slightly, then he calmly said, "It's okay."

But his forehead was red from the bump.

"Mr. Eilish, your forehead..." Juniper felt really bad. "I'm sorry, I woke up and saw us..."

Anthony asked, "Saw us what?"

"Nothing."

Anthony's eyes were probing.

"Maybe we were both too tired and leaned on each other. But that's normal." She laughed awkwardly but still scratched her head, feeling a bit embarrassed.

'How awkward. We fell asleep leaning on each other?' she thought.

Anthony had been having trouble sleeping lately, almost always staying awake until three or four in the morning before crashing. This time, he had unknowingly fallen asleep in the car.

It was his first time falling asleep in the car.

It must be because Juniper was by his side.

Anthony could feel her influence on him, like some kind of magic.

They finally rolled up to the hotel.

Their rooms were right next to each other.

It was just about lunchtime, so Anthony said, "I'll grab some takeout, and you can come to my room to eat. We can keep working on the materials, and there's a meeting at three."

Sounded reasonable enough, so Juniper nodded. "Cool, I'll drop my stuff off and be right over."

She walked into her room and took a deep breath.

She was about to be alone with him in a hotel room.

Kinda felt like there was something more going on.

Juniper took another deep breath. "Don't overthink it. Focus on work!"

She pumped her fist. "Be cool. You got this. Go for it."

Soon enough, the takeout arrived. Neither of them was super hungry, so they just got some sandwiches and coffee.

Looking at the sandwich, Juniper remembered making sandwiches for him every morning.

She wondered, 'Will he miss my sandwiches after I leave? What am I even thinking? I'm here to work.'

Juniper shook her head and tried to focus.

Seeing her shake her head and mumble to herself, Anthony couldn't help but chuckle.

Juniper was a real gem, all business when working, like a baby when sleeping, sometimes a little tyrant, and sometimes as gentle as a lamb. It was all these sides of her that kept Anthony hooked, unlike other women who bored him to tears.

Juniper got serious and started studying the contract, biting her pen.

"That's gross," Anthony suddenly said.

"What?"

"Don't bite the pen," Anthony reminded her.

"I've been doing it since I was a kid. It's not gonna kill me." Juniper playfully stuck out her tongue.

Her features were naturally charming, and when she stuck out her tongue, it was like she was being cute, making her even more irresistible, lightly stirring Anthony's heart. It was like a feather brushing over his heart, making it race.

When he was with her, he felt like a teenager who'd never experienced desire, easily getting dry-mouthed and wanting to kiss her.

"Mr. Eilish, I don't get this part." Juniper brought the contract over. "It's about the profit..."

Anthony didn't hear a word she said, just staring at her lips moving. They were soft, like a peach.

He had kissed them before, very sweet. But it wasn't a deep kiss; if it were a deep kiss, it would be even sweeter.

"Mr. Eilish?" Juniper waved her hand in front of his eyes.

He was actually zoning out, staring at her.

If it were another guy, she would definitely think he was a creep and slap him without hesitation.

But with Anthony, Juniper just touched her face and asked, "Is there something on my face?"

'Yeah, there's a light that draws me in,' Anthony thought, thankful he didn't say it out loud.

"No. Go on," Anthony replied.

"What? I've already finished." Juniper blinked and said, "I'm waiting for your answer."

Anthony hadn't heard her question at all; he just thought her lips were very pink, and her voice was soft and pleasant. He could listen to it forever and never get tired of it.

Anthony's heart trembled.

'Do I actually want to be with her forever?' he thought.

He was shocked.

Juniper reminded him, "Mr. Eilish, you don't seem to be in the right state. If you're still tired, you should catch some more sleep. The meeting's in the hotel, so I'll wake you up at 2:30."

Anthony thought, 'I want to hold you and sleep together; that would be so comfortable.'
