Chapter 181

The windows of the study were open, and the rain dropsinwater poured in, extinguishing the cigarette between the man's slender fingers.

With the cigarette extinguished, Lawrence threw it away in silence.

His gaze contained a restrained anger withand a chilling coldness that had nowhere to vent out.

He stared at that struggling figure on the ground, on the side of the carved door, with no place to take shelter from the rain.

What did she want to do?

Lawrence wondered as he focused on her pregnant belly, but whenever he thought about how she had schemed, even daring to usewith the child, his gaze turned cold.

In the next second, he forcefully pulled the curtains shut, sat down in the chair and began to smoke as time passed by , and ashtrays filled with cigarette butts piled up beside him.

Darcy's expression turned gloomy at the sight unfolding before her. With such a heavy down pourrain, Winnie standing there without leaving was just pretending to be pitiful.

Lawrence certainly hadn't slept; he was in the study, probably watching.

The longer Winnie was out therethe time, the more Winnie couldn't hold on in her current state. Increasing the chances of LHe might softening his heart!

Darcy was smart and had long grown accustomed to reading Lawrence to a certain degree. If Mr. Rodriguez had been truly ruthless, he would have forced Winnie to sign at that time, even if she had tried to resist. ed.

She would eventually be as powerless to resist the pressure from Mr. Rodriguez.. But Lawrence didn't do it.

Winnie didn't leave, and he didn't drive her away either. He probably still wanted to test whether Winnie's affection werewasas genuine or fake. Darcy deduced the whole situation in a matter of minutes.

This was dangerous, she it couldn't let Lawrence's heart soften, Darcy said to herself, a hint of frustration in her voice..

Darcy slapped her face twice and a flicker of anger flashed through her mind. She made a call with a cold smile,

"Jeffery, in another hour, get a few ruffians to come and take Winnie away, oh, and find that needle case she has with her and bring it to me."

Once she had the medication, she could cure Lawrence and no longer be threatened by Winnie.

As for Winnie, staying in the suburbs late at night, there were countless possibilities for how she could die.

After all, Lawrence would eventually go to sleep. Darcy waited to take action at three or four in the morning.

But suddenly, that maid ruined the opportunity!

At two in the morning, Taylor looked out the window several times. Finally, unable to bring herself to do it, she estimated that Mr. Rodriguez wouldn't forgive Mrs. Rodriguez, if she came down at this time.

Taylor saw Mrs. Rodriguez start to sway on her feet, as though about to pass out, standing there with such a big belly, getting soaked in the rain. Something could happen to the child!

After all, that was Madame Rodriguez's beloved grandchild, and Taylor's heart loved the unborn baby as well.

She put on her coat, took an umbrella, and a few clean clothes. "Miss Anderson, change into these, take the umbrella, and leave quickly. Don't use the child to provoke Lawrence!"

"I won't leave. If I leave, I'll be abandoning him, and he'll be even angrier." Winnie justified.

"Don't you understand? Mr. Rodriguez won't forgive you. He's still angry right now, don't confront him." Taylor tried to reason with Winnie.

"I won't leave, Taylor. Let me sneak in secretly, or else I'll keep standing in the rain until dawn..." Winnie pleaded. Seeing that she was serious, Taylor had no choice but to concede.

"Why are you so stubborn, child! If he doesn't want you, just wait a little longer.... Let me help you inside, but you can only stay until dawn."

Taylor left withhad no choice helped Winnie in as quietly as possible. Winnie She was trembling and still a little feverish. It wouldn't be good for eitherboth of them if things continued like this.

TaylorShe quietly helped her into a room that was not frequently used in the villa.

The servants' quarters were towards in the backyard on the ground floor, small but comfortable. Taylor thought they wouldn't draw much attention here.

There was a bed, and Taylor had Winnie lie down on the heated floor. Taylor went to the bathroom to get hot water quietly. In the pitch-black darkness, Taylor didn't notice movement atsee the entrance ofto the second floor.

Darcy's room door was open, revealing two cold glances. Winnie was freezing, and the sudden warmth felt like needles pricking her skin. It wasn't until Taylor helped her change clothes and covered her with several blankets that she started to feel a bit better.

Taylor looked at her coldly for a moment and then pointed at her belly. "Feel the baby move, make sure the child is okay."

"Thank you, Taylor. It was moving vigorously just now, so it should be asleep now." Winnie assured Taylor.

"Why do you torture yourself like this? You owe Mr. Rodriguez, even . Madam Rodriguez has become persistently vegetative, just get a divorce from him!"

Taylor advised, believing that it would be a relief for both of them.

"Taylor, if I were to say that I didn't harm Madam Rodriguez, would you believe me?" Winnie searched Taylor's eyes for a hint of trust.

Taylor's face turned cold as she responded. "But it was your uncle who kidnapped Madam Rodriguez and pushed me out of the car. I saw it with my own eyes."

Winnie gave a bitter smile. "It's true that my uncle kidnapped Mrs. Rodriguezmy mother , but it's also true that I didn't cause her to become persistently vegetative. There have been too many misunderstandings between him and Ime and him."

She held Taylor's hand as she continued. "Did he place my mother (Madam Rodriguez) in the isolatedstandalone house at the back? Please, let me see her. I want to know her condition." Winnie pleaded.

"No way!"

Taylor withdrew heris hand and looked at her suspiciously.

"Mr. Rodriguez instructed me atin the hospital to keep you away from Madam Rodriguez's room. Don't make things difficult for me!" Taylor disregarded her plea.

"He may be guarding against me, but he doesn't know that the person he should really be wary of is Darcy," Winnie said bitterly.

So, how could she feel at ease letting Darcy and Madam Rodriguezher mother live under the same roof?

"What do you mean by that?" Taylor asked curiously.

"Taylor, please, let Grace over in the standalone house know to be careful around Darcy. There's a connection between Darcy and Mrs. Rodriguezmy mother becoming persistently vegetative."

Taylor was puzzled. "But Miss Ordelia was the one who donated the kidney to Madam Rodriguez, not Mrs. Rodriguez. You shouldn't speak without evidence!"

Winnie fell silent. Obviously, no one believed her now. "Taylor, I will find out the truth. Don't say anything, just protect Madam Rodriguezmy mother."

The concern in her eyes confused Taylor, and she said in a cold voice, "Go to sleep. Leave as soon as it gets light, and don't harm me, Mrs. Rodriguez!"

Winnie lay down bitterly.

She had a sleepless night. Before dawn, Winnie got up feeling heavy-headed and light-footed. She gently said to the sleeping Taylor, "I'm sorry, Taylor."

She left the room in silence andThen she walked out of the backyard.

After five months of being together, she knew Mr. Rodriguez's routine.

Men usually have a rule of not bathing before their scheduled exercise, Lawrence usually wokeaking up at five o'clock to exercise, after which he would carry out his care routine in preparation for work..

Winnie quietly walked into the kitchen, rolled up her sleeves, and started preparing breakfast.

Because she was not skilled, she did it several times until the breakfast was perfectly cooked.

As the time approached seven o'clock, Darcy woke up.

Just as she reached the stairs, she saw Winnie in the kitchen!

Darcy clenched his fingers tightly. Is she trying to play the sympathy card here?

Her gaze turned cold, and she turned back and walked towards the second-floor gym. Lawrence came out for a morning run, and Darcy handed himer a towel, her voice gentle. "I've prepared the shower for you, Lawrence."

"You don't have to trouble yourself with those things." Lawrence instinctively furrowed hiser brows.

Darcy looked aggrieved.

He softened his tone, pulling her wrist. "Why are you so cold? Did you not sleep well last night? Was the nurse not taking good care of you?"

Nurses were arranged in her room, so naturally, Lawrence wouldn't stay in the master bedroom.

Darcy obediently said, "I'm not used to the bed, maybe it's the decoration style that I don't like."

"Then let's change it." Lawrence said without hesitation.

Darcy looked at him with surprised. This way, Winnie's presence would be completely erased she thought to herself before speaking agin..

"Lawrence, Iyou don't need a nurse to accompany meyou in the room anymore. I'm not that weak."

"Follow the doctor's advice. I'm going to take a bath. You go downstairs first." Lawrence said before turning to leave.

Darcy watched the tall and tall man walk to the bathroom takingand take off his short sleeves as he left to reveal the tension of his back and narrow waist.

Her eyes trembled fiercely and blushed with shyness. SheShe was indeed charmed by thisa charming man.

Lawrence came out after taking a bath, but Darcyshe didn't leave. She stood in the dressing room, holding his clothes in both hands, and saw him frown upon seeing her still in the room.

Darcy looked aggrieved and whispered, "I just want to serve you, Lawrence, will you just fulfill my little wish?"
