Chapter 704

"Get away from me," Alvin said calmly.

Olivia, totally thrown off, blurted out, "Jeremy?"

Loren stepped in front of her. "You think you can just waltz up to Alvin like that? He's my nephew, not some Jeremy."

"W-Wait, h-he's your nephew? But he's Jeremy!" Olivia stammered.

Loren's eyes flickered, but he didn't deny it. He shoved Olivia away. "Don't touch Alvin. He's barely hanging on, and the poison in him could flare up any second. You wanna get yourself killed?"

"How... how did this happen?" Olivia was freaking out. "Jeremy, what went down with you and Sean that day? What's wrong with you?"

"Shut it. I don't know you. Keep yapping, and I'll toss you back to the sea with the sharks." Alvin pushed her away, looking disgusted.

Olivia hit the ground, eyes wide with disbelief. 'Is this really Jeremy? Since when did he get such a nasty temper? And how can he not recognize me?'

"Jeremy, what's wrong with you? Did you lose your memory? I'm Olivia, Mia's mom! Lawrence is your best friend, and there's also Winnie, Ray, Benjamin Martin, they..." Olivia jabbered desperately to talk some sense into the man in front of her.

"Loren, she's annoying. Handle her." Alvin just walked away coldly without even a backwards glance.

Loren glared at him. "Who told you to save her? We're miles from the sea now. Lock her up."

"Jeremy! Even the way you adjust your glasses is the same. Why don't you recognize me?" Olivia tried to catch up but was blocked by bodyguards.

She watched helplessly as Jeremy walked away.

'He really doesn't recognize me. Did he survive but lose his memory? This is nuts. I almost died finding him, thinking we'd go back to Trento City together. But he doesn't know me at all. How am I supposed to take him back now?' Olivia thought.

Feeling lost, Olivia blundered out.

"Stop!" Loren barked, signaling the bodyguards. "Grab her."

Four bodyguards rushed forward.

Olivia, terrified, was pinned to the ground. "What are you doing? "

"You suspiciously fell into our waters and lured Alvin to save you." Loren stared at her coldly. "Who knows what your deal is? You must have bad intentions."

"My deal?" Olivia snapped, "I should be asking about your deal. How can you claim Jeremy is your nephew? I've known Jeremy for ages. I'm his friend, Olivia. We live in Trento City. Lawrence is his best friend, and we've been looking for him."

"Lawrence, Mr. Rodriguez who betrayed Alvin and almost got him killed? You're with Mr. Rodriguez? Someone, throw this woman into the dungeon now!" Loren's eyes blazed with anger.

Olivia was stunned. 'This Loren knows Lawrence? And he's pissed after hearing his name? Why? He must have bought into those rumors outside Trento City that Lawrence betrayed Jeremy and tried to kill him.'

"Sir, you're mistaken!" Olivia was desperate, explaining anxiously, "The real culprits are the Peterson family and Mars. This is all a setup by the Peterson Group against the Rodriguez Group, and Jeremy got caught in the crossfire. Now Sam's framing Lawrence, which is why everyone thinks he's the bad guy."

"Enough of your excuses. I've already looked into Trento City, and Lawrence is the prime suspect. Don't think just 'cause I don't live there, I don't know what's up. You probably don't even know who I am." Loren's face was ice-cold, and he was fuming. "Alvin shouldn't have followed Lawrence to Trento City. If his mom hadn't been worried and asked me to keep tabs on him, I wouldn't have found him when he got into trouble. Now that he's barely hanging on, I won't let you hurt him again. You might be here to finish the job for Lawrence. Lock her up in the dungeon!"

"From the way you talk, are you really Jeremy's uncle? But you're so wrong." Olivia anxiously defended herself. "Let me see Jeremy. I'll talk to him face-to-face. He knows the truth!"

"Can't you see he's lost his memory because of you people? If I could get the truth from him, would I need to dig around in Trento City? Alvin is the heir to the DeRoss Family. Now that he's like this, you all deserve to pay. Once I find out the truth, Lawrence is done for. Do you think the chairman of NexaCore Group is a pushover?" Loren snapped.

"Sir, it's not what you think." Olivia was dragged along the corridor to the villa's basement by the bodyguards.

Loren personally watched as the bodyguards locked her up and instructed, "Starve her until she spills why she's here."

Olivia was on the verge of tears. Forget taking Jeremy away, she couldn't even escape by herself.

She looked at the complex courtyard, unable to figure out where she was and how far she was from Winnie.

Thinking of how Rock had almost killed her, Olivia wished she could rush back and tell Winnie everything, but she couldn't move now.

"I really fell into the sea and was saved by Jeremy," she explained.

Loren completely ignored her and turned to leave as a low growl came from the other end of the corridor.

'Isn't that Jeremy's voice?' Olivia thought, stunned, and desperately tried to stop the bodyguards from closing the door, straining to listen. The growls came in waves, like a patient having an episode.

"Mr. Loren DeRoss, something's wrong!"

A butler ran down the corridor, his face pale, and reported, "Mr. Alvin DeRoss's poison has flared up again. The doctor just went over, and he's burning up. You know how strong he is; we can't control him."

"Useless! Didn't you give him medicine at noon? Why are the intervals between episodes getting shorter?" Loren turned sharply.

"Sir! What's wrong with Jeremy? What does he catch?" Olivia asked anxiously.

Probably very angry, Loren turned back. "It's all your fault. He was attacked and fell into the sea, swept into the center of a current, and bitten by a rare poisonous sea creature. Although he was saved, the poison flares up from time to time, which is one of the reasons for his memory loss!"

"Where are the other doctors? Are all those neurologists useless?" Loren walked and shouted at the butler.
